TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?
Hi my name is Winnie and I am a Chinese Australian from Melbourne. I moved to London when I was 25, now married, new home, and 3 kids (Luna, River and Koa) later I am still here! I have a children's label called Luna+ River www.lunaandriver.com and we make very simple silhouette organic cotton and linen dresses, rompers and mix and match pieces for your little ones. Life is pretty busy in our household now but I am embracing our growing family. We recently moved to a new home which we are slowly renovating with a small garden and we are so grateful for the space especially in central London when flats/homes are so tiny.

I enjoy long walks, by the river, the beach, anywhere outdoors in nature. Summer is one of my favourite seasons as there’s nothing better than the warmth of the sun on your skin! I love food and coffee (one of our favourite pastimes is visiting cafes with cool spaces and good coffee, people watching.). I love photography especially capturing my little family moments. I also adore travelling. This has definitely slowed down in that department due to Covid and our expanding family, but hope to continue to explore the world with my children now that things are opening up again and the littlest one is getting easier :)

TELL US ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
I used to be an Accountant before I had kids and knew that I didn’t want to work the normal 9-5 job in an office where I wouldn’t see my children. I’ve always loved fashion and when I couldn’t quite find the pieces of clothes I wanted for my Daughter I knew it was the right time to start my own label. I wanted to create clothes for her as she grew!.
All of our pieces, inspired by the colours of nature and simple silhouettes, have been carefully designed and curated with comfort in mind. Pieces are never restrictive, and mainly unisex which can be passed down from sibling to sibling. Designed in London and made ethically in Europe. We love linen and have some beautiful spring summer pieces in the most gorgeous colours come check us out!
HISTORICALLY, WHAT HAS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CLOTHES SHOPPING BEEN LIKE?
I used to be addicted to shopping and constantly buying things on trend, which was so not sustainable and not good for my wallet. As I grew older I’ve definitely grown into my skin and my style and I make more conscious decisions when buying clothes now. It’s all about comfort, good quality and as well as looking good.

WHERE DID YOU FIRST HEAR ABOUT BEYOND NINE?
Funny thing is I heard of Beyond Nine through Instagram but I was then approached by Naomi to take part in photoshoot when I was pregnant with River and was gifted my first piece. There was no turning back!
