INTRODUCING THE 'BEYOND NINERS'

Our community is really what makes Beyond Nine. You're what empowers us and reinforces everything we do. Each and every one of you never cease to amaze us with your personalities, creativity, style, and your passion. There's nothing better than seeing you style your pieces and knowing how good we make you feel in them. We absolutely love hearing from you all and we thought it was about time that we shone the spotlight on YOU for a while, and be your fans.

Each month we will be sharing one of our customer's stories. They will let us into their lives and tell us all about their journey with clothes, fashion, and what Beyond Nine means to them.

First up is the lovely Mia Davies. Read her story below. Mia, we think you're amazing!

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

My names Mia, I’m 30 years old, a mum of 2 beautiful babies, Violet who’s 5 and Albert who’s 6! I’m a photographer from Essex, I started working as a photographer full time after I finished maternity leave with my 2nd child and I’ve never looked back since, I absolutely LOVE everything about my job, it brings me so much joy photographing so many lovely and wonderful families, babies, weddings and so on!

WHAT HISTORICALLY HAS YOUR RELATIONSHIP WITH CLOTHES AND SHOPPING BEEN LIKE?

My history with buying clothes, especially since having children has been hard for me, I’ve never found things that I like or I feel comfortable in, I’ve lived in leggings and shirts basically for 3 years now! The thought of going into a shop to try clothes on since having kids makes me anxious and I have just avoided it at all costs…… unless Beyond Nine had a store!

WHERE DID YOU FIRST HEAR ABOUT BEYOND NINE?

I first heard about Beyond Nine when I went to photograph a good friend of mine, Charlotte Sayer (another big Beyond Nine fan), I walked in and she was wearing a bright pink boiler suit and I feel in LOVE, Charlotte then put her and I forward for model/photographer during lockdown when you guys were looking for people to photograph items from home and well….. the rest is history, I’m not sure if I’ve bought anything from anywhere else since then

WHAT DOES THE BRAND MEAN TO YOU?

To me, the Beyond Nine brand means more than just clothes, it means me feeling comfortable and confident, it means I can buy amazing pieces of clothing that I know are going to last and everything is just timeless. I feel like it’s a little community and when I see other people wearing it when I walk around my hometown I think to myself, yay, they must have that good feeling too!

HOW DO YOU FEEL WHEN YOU WEAR  BEYOND NINE?

When I wear Beyond Nine, I feel happy, confident, proud, floaty and some many more nice feelings. It genuinely brings me so much joy and confidence when I put on anything beyond nine, all the endorphins are released when I pop a dress over my head or step into a jumpsuit and look in the mirror. I’ve hand on heart, never ever had that with any clothing brands before. I love the fact that the items make me feel so good but also last (and I wear and wash mine A LOT). My sister is recently pregnant and I’ve treated her to a Poppy and I plan to buy her a few more pieces as she absolutely needs Beyond Nine in her life whilst she’s pregnant and beyond!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE?

My favourite piece….. now, this is a hard one…. I would say I have different pieces for different seasons. I’ve never felt as comfortable in anything as I do in savannah and Sahara jumpsuits, I have them in every colour and basically just rotate them during the summer. I also stick a top underneath and thick socks on with them for autumn/winter, they’re so versatile! I love the coveralls for autumn winter, I never thought I’d be able to wear boiler suit style clothing as I didn’t think my body type would suit it but, here I am wearing them and feeling a million dollars! I also live and die in my Laura jumpsuits in autumn winter, this last week I’ve worn them most days, the navy has to be my most favourite! I think my overalL favourite would have to be the Cece dress…. I wear it to photograph in, on school runs, out for breakfast or lunch and also on nights out, I love that I can dress it up or down however I like and I always get compliments on it. I had the new sage green one arrive yesterday and I can’t wait wear it out! Winnie (in all colours I have, normal gingham, orange and lilac and white) are also another firm favourites here…… sorry I couldn’t give a straight answer to that

WHAT DOES FEELING GOOD IN YOUR CLOTHES MEAN TO YOU?

Feeling good In my clothes means not having to feel stressed and anxious when getting dressed or worrying about buying something online in case it arrives and doesn’t fit like it does on the models online (which happens ALOT with other brands). Knowing I’ll feel comfortable in beyond nine due to to the way the clothing is made takes away all the stress. I just wish I’d discovered it whilst I was pregnant with my kids!

ANY STAND OUT MOMENTS WEARING BEYOND NINE?

I was photographing a wedding wearing the orange and lilac Winnie dress once and I had sooo many compliments on it throughout the day! I also had a lady stop me in the street once to ask me where I bought my light indigo savannah as she just absolutely loved it and wanted to buy one for herself!

Mia wears the Navy Laura , Navy Jenny and Hugh, Winnie Dress and the Sage Cece.
